European Outdoor Film Tour 11/12

They balance barefoot over a shaky highline at a height of 4000 meters, climb up 8000m peaks at the crack of dawn and voluntarily gain a considerable amount of weight for their three-month long expedition to the arctic. They freeze. They get scared. They experience moments of happiness. They would not want any other way: the heroes of the European Outdoor Film Tour 11/12 are hard to break.

Again, this year, the two-hour long film program shows that passion and pain often go hand in hand, whether in regard to ski tours, mountain climbing, rock climbing, mountain biking or free riding.

The Program:

A Female Tale – When it comes to bouldering, Anna Stöhr and Juliane Wurm are hard to beat, but when they first try out crack climbing at the Castleton Tower, they can surely learn a few tricks from Lynn Hill, a master in this discipline.

Baffin Babes
– The Baffin Babes master 1200 km in 80 days on skis through the arctic icy desert and are living proof that women are hard to break.

Dark Side of the Lens
– The photographer and cameraman Mickey Smith provides an insight through the mirror and lets us see the world through his eyes: as surfing observer between water and waves.

The Majestic Plastic Bag
– We accompany a plastic bag on its journey through the urban jungle all the way to its original destination: the big trash swirl in the Pacific Ocean.

Cold – Simone Moro, Denis Urubko and Cory Richards are the first ones to climb up
the Gasherbrum II during winter. On their way back, they get surprised by an avalanche.

Life Cycles
– The wheel is considered to be the greatest invention of mankind – Life Cycles sets an impressive monument through movement and very aesthetical images.

Kadoma – The Lukuga River in the heart of the Kongos is one of the most dangerous rivers of the world. Hendri Coetzee, Chris Korbulic and Ben Stookesbury want to be the first ones to explore it by kajak. A dramatic decision.

This Must Be The One
– Watching this movie will show whether you are free from acrophobia: a tightrope dance at lofty heights – between the pinnacles of the Mont-Blanc Massif and the skyscrapers of Paris.

Being There
– Powderturns with ocean view: you can get that only in Norway and on the Lofoten Islands – and this is a very special experience even for the best freeskiers in the world!
