GORE-TEX is CAMPER’s New Technology Partner

The footwear brand from Mallorca will use GORE-TEX Technology for its most innovative shoe versions.

Through this agreement CAMPER footwear with GORE-TEX Technology will be distributed in over 30 countries.

Barcelona, 7th  March 2012.- Camper and GORE-TEX have signed a cooperation agreement through which Camper will use GORE-TEX Technology in some of its shoes to provide end users with an optimum climate comfort and durable protection. The 2012 Fall/Winter collection will be the starting point of this cooperation. Camper will manufacture 14 of its shoe versions (men & women’s) with GORE-TEX Technology. The shoes will be available in multibrand shops and in Camper’s 350 shops, spread across the world’s major cities.

“We are proud of this cooperation. Camper is a reference brand in the market due to the quality of its footwear and its unique and original designs”,  says Ramón Diez, head of GORE-TEX Footwear in Spain. Also Camper’s sales director, Mariano Alonso de la Hera, feels “very optimistic” and “excited about this cooperation and is convinced that it will be well received by the market”.

Camper is not a specific type of footwear, but a style and philosophy of life, a way of thinking and creating footwear. And GORE-TEX Technology means quality and comfort, protecting from rain and cold and managing moisture and heat transfer to provide feet with an optimum climate comfort and durable protection. The added value of combining GORE-TEX Technology with the Camper brand is expected to have a huge impact in the industry.

About Camper

The company was founded in 1975 in Mallorca (Balearic Islands) by Lorenzo Fluxà. Camper is the result of a solid family tradition dating back over a century: in 1877, Lorenzo’s grandfather, Antonio Fluxà, brought  back from England new industrial methods for shoe manufacturing. His grandson has transformed this spirit of innovation, modernity and design into a lifestyle, a new way of thinking based on freedom, comfort and creativity. The first Camper shop opened in 1981 in Barcelona using a revolutionary system: merchandising. Ten years later, in 1992, Camper expanded internationally with the emblematic opening of its shops in Paris, London and Milan. In 2012, Camper has 300 shops all over the world and is present in more than 50 countries with 4,000 points of sale.
