W.L. Gore & Associates to support OIA Britain on Foot campaign

W.L. Gore & Associates brand GORE-TEX, has become the latest supporter of the Outdoor Industries Association’s campaign to improve wellbeing in the United Kingdom. Britain on Foot is a long-term initiative that aims to find ways to encourage the public to take part in outdoor activities and ultimately increase levels of exercise. The project will be officially launched at Westminster on October 24th.

“We are proud to be able to support Britain on Foot because it is a campaign that has the potential to have a direct impact on the health and wellbeing of people in the United Kingdom,” comments Anna McNamara, Gore marketing. “We are lucky to have a beautiful country that is easily accessible and the more people who get outside and enjoy it the better. The BoF campaign has the potential to really make a difference to people’s everyday lives.”

Andrew Denton, Chief Executive of the Outdoor Industries Association, comments, “I am delighted that W.L. Gore & Associates has agreed to support Britain on Foot. BoF has enormous potential, but it will only succeed in the long term if the whole industry gets behind it, so this news is both welcome and significant. The GORE-TEX brand is one of the major names in our sector and the company’s backing for the campaign will both help us to broaden the reach of our communications, and also encourage other outdoor businesses to join the campaign.

Together, we can ensure that the launch of Britain on Foot on 24th October makes a big initial impact and is then followed by a sustained programme of marketing and grass roots activity throughout the UK in 2013.”
