GORE-TEX Experience Tour: Design your very own TREKKING BOOTS with the GORE-TEX brand and La Sportiva.
The perfect trekking boot for the coming summer outings? Your own! With the project by the GORE-TEX brand and La Sportiva, the greatest hiking enthusiasts will have their chance to design and present their very own trekking boots to ensure they stay “a step ahead” of the rest, allowing them to travel wearing boots conceived together with the Gore and La Sportiva team, with performance materials and advanced solutions.
This offer provides the exclusive opportunity to draw on your experience and meet the challenge of diverse expectations to create your own personalised boots. The boots will be developed on Facebook, on the official GORE-TEX Outdoor products Fanpage, within the GORE-TEX Experience Tour application. Participation is subject to an initial application phase, which involves submitting your entry by clicking on “get the experience” and then on the option “Build your own La Sportiva boots” and following the steps shown.
There will be two phases:
1. The first step to being selected is to register! The jury of experts will select the 10 best candidates.
2. The 10 selected candidates will then be asked to get creatively involved by designing their ideal trekking boots! Following this, the best three projects will proceed to the final phase lasting two days: one at a workshop on company premises and another in the field to test the boots, recreating the perfect situation to put them to the test not only as a sports enthusiast, but as an expert designer too.
The R&D team of La Sportiva – an Italian firm specialising in technical outdoor footwear manufacture and based in Trentino in the Val di Fiemme valley, at the foot of the Dolomites – will support the winners and work with them, together with Gore experts, to create personalised boots, based on an existing boot with a GORE-TEX membrane.
In order to register and have a good chance of winning you will need to:
be an outdoor recreation enthusiast; live in Europe; be at least 18 years of age; speak English; be a quick learner and skilled with your hands; be willing to work and interact with the team; knowledge of Italian is an advantage; be able to travel for 2 days: the event will be held on 28th and 29th March 2011 in the Val di Fiemme valley.
The closing date for registration is 13th February 2011: Are you up for the challenge?
