The new GORE-TEX Pro membrane technology

Innovative technologies for maximum protection and better comfort: W.L. Gore & Associates (Gore) extends its successful GORE-TEX product range to include a new generation of GORE-TEX Pro products. Engineered for professional mountaineers and ambitious outdoor and freeride enthusiasts, these products offer improved ruggedness and significantly increased breathability, thus adding an entirely new dimension to professional hard shell clothing. This is thanks to a revolutionary, patent-pending membrane technology.

In order to develop the new generation of garments with GORE-TEX Pro product technology the GORE-TEX product developers have completely revolutionised the whole garment system, including the choice of membrane and textiles. The centrepiece of this technology is the new GORE-TEX Pro membrane. This revolutionary, multilayer membrane system with its unique 100% ePTFE-based microstructures is durably bonded to the outer material and a specially developed inner lining on the inside.

Face textiles that meet high performance criteria (denier > 40) and a demanding garment design specification assure the high performance and ruggedness of the new generation of GORE-TEX Pro garments. Paired with the patented Gore Micro Grid Backer technology for high internal abrasion and snag resistance, the new generation of GORE-TEX Pro 3-layer laminates brings a completely new level of robustness and ruggedness into the world of GORE-TEX products.

As extensive testing in laboratories and under real-life conditions has revealed, compared to previous products, the new generation of GORE-TEX Pro products offers up to 28 % increased breathability. This means minimised risk of sweat accumulation and maximised comfort – without compromising on the durable waterproof and windproof features you’ve come to expect from the previous generation of GORE-TEX Pro products.
