The team who will tackle the next GORE-TEX Experience Tour project has been announced.  The Fourteen Peaks Challenge takes place in the beautiful Snowdonia National Park in North Wales this March guided by experts from the National Mountain Centre at Plas y Brenin.

Known locally as the Three Thousands because it takes in all of the 3000ft+ peaks in the area, the GORE-TEX Fourteen Peaks Challenge takes in some of Snowdonia’s classic ridge walks as well as its famous peaks. This expedition has been promoted through the www.experience-tour.com website and through various media and retail partnerships across Europe.

The four winners chosen by the www.experience-tour.com judging panel are Shane Knight (UK), Mitica Pecheanu (Romania), Constantin Vogt (Germany) and Marco Köditz (Germany). These four will be joined by two Adventure Travel readers; Laraine Wyn-Jones (UK) and Dries Herremann (Belgium); a winner from Mountain Equipment, Sarah Morton (UK); and finally Michal Grobelny, Nils Zuendorf and Thomas Härtel who won their places from competitions run in Poland and Germany respectively.

“Our winners all showed the passion for the outdoors that we were looking for. They will now get their chance to experience the benefits of GORE-TEX product technology whilst enjoying some of the most stunning scenery in the UK,” explains Anna McNamara of Gore.

The first day will be dedicated to practicing the skills needed to tackle the bigger peaks, including scrambling.  The four hill days will take in several famous routes including the Snowdon Horseshoe, the Carneddau Ridge, Tryfan and the Glyders.
